Am enclosing a letter and a translation letter from my wifes ….Lieselotte…father Ewald Malischewski written in Jan 45….the last letter they got. He was a horse cavalry commander of Ruissian Cossaks in the Carpathian Mountains. He was captured by the British and treated well. His Cossacks were turned over to the Russians by the Americans. They were all killed. He was a personal friend of Gen Von Panwitz…we had a German Sheppard Lebo named after Panwitz`s German Sheppard. Our current German Sheppard is Sascha named after a favorite horse of her father during the war…a Russian horse.

So many intersting stories. Feel free to share my story …it is important to do so. All of this is never taught in school….my kids no nothing, and I am a Naval Academy Graduate with 37 years service……they do not have a clue.

There are many in our village of Ajijic that will like yor site.
This is where Gen Dornburger settled and died after the war. Have a salt, pepper, sugar and creamer set of his.

unterstuetzen. Mutti, es muss halt so gehen. Wir muessen zufrieden sein, dass es uns noch so gut geht. Ich habe meine Schwadron jetzt wieder uebernommen. Mein Kr ist jetzt vom Urlaub zurueck. In den letzten Tagen hatten wir viel zu tun. Es hat aber Spass gemacht. Meine Maenner waren einfach fabelhaft. Post wird…next page…
von mir spaerlich eintroedeln. Rege Dich aber bitte nicht auf. Es geht mir gut und es wird auch so bleiben. Das Wetter ist so richtig winterlich. Es liegt viel Schnee. Dear Wife and children

I just received a lot of letters from you- I was really happy about this. The most recent was 7 January. Lots of thanks to you. I feel relaxed that you are doing well. I am sorry I cannot do anything for you. Mutti (mother ) it has to be this way. We have to be happy we are doing so well. I have my squadron / Troop White Russian Cossack Cavalry that fought with the German Army in WW 2 ) back with me again. My Commander General Vo Panwitz and my best friend is back from vacation. In the last days we have had lots of work. I really enjoy this. My men were absolutely wonderful. Mail from me will be slow but do not get upset .I am doing fine and will stay this way. Winter is here, a lot of snow. In the East many things are going on, but it will get straightened out again. We are full of hope.
Today the package was returned to methat I had expected to arrive home when I was there on vacation. It was 5 months on the way. I know your worries. Dear Frauchen ( wife ) It will change again. I miss my girls. Now my dear Frauchen, my warmest thanks again. Please say hello to the family for me. Love and kisses.

Rittmeister Ewald Malischewski was captured by the British. This is the last letter they received. He was treated well. All of his Russian Cossacks were turned over to the Russians by the Americans and were shot to the last one.. That is another story.
