GERMAN BADGES OF WWII
Nazi war relics and Hitler WW2 souvenirs.
Attics, basements, and garages have served as resting places for original nazi war souvenirs, booty, trophies, and collectibles liberated by soldiers during the war with Hitler. Each item had a story, like the GI who picked up a pistol from a dead German Waffen SS officer, took a nazi flag from a town square, or found Hitler's personal copy of Mein Kampf from his night stand at the Berghoff. Even after all these years nazi relics still capture our imagination.
But, as time passes so does the growing rarity of these artifacts and the resulting higher prices make them impossible for many to have in personal collection where they can be held and studied at leisure but PzG has changed all of that by making historically accurate reproductions available to buy at reasonable prices for collectors, re-enactors, teachers, military enthusiasts, and all students of WWII history.

Dr. Fritz Todt Award

The Dr. Fritz Todt Badge was awarded to any German for an invention that resulted in an improvement in the Third Reich’s weaponry or munitions. The badge was authorized in three grades, and which one was awarded depended on how important the invention was. The black badge was the Third Class version. Dr. Fritz Todt was a top Nazi figure and an engineer. In 1938, he founded the Organization Todt, which brought together government organizations including the Reich Labor Service and private companies to build the West Wall defenses. On Feb. 8, 1942, Todt was killed in an airplane accident. It was speculated that Todt had been deliberately eliminated because of differences of opinion with Hitler over the war in Russia, but this has never been confirmed. Todt was replaced by Albert Speer. The Todt award was authorized in 1944, on the second anniversary of Todt’s death. The badge consists of an eagle perched on a nameplate with Todt’s name, over a geared wheel with a swastika at the center. The badge was worn on the left breast pocket. The badge measures a little less than three inches tall. Our high-quality reproduction is fitted with a simple pin-back.
