Panzer

Panzer or in full Panzerkampfwagen meaning "armour" were a series of six battle tanks fielded by the German army in the 1930s and ’40s. Following World War I, the German army had been prohibited by the Treaty of Versailles from using tanks. After Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933 the army began to rebuild its tank forces secretly at first and then openly. The first German tank, the A7V of 1918, was referred to as Sturmpanzerwagen (roughly, "armoured assault vehicle"). Panzers provided the striking power of Germany’s panzer (armoured) divisions throughout the war.

Panzer (Tank) Assault Badge

History: Wehrmacht Tank Battle badge was introduced on December 20, 1939, to recognize achievements of Panzer personnel who took part in armored assaults.

The Silver class was presented to tank commanders, gunners or radio operators while the bronze class was presented to the Panzer-Grenadier regiments, tank assault crew, armored recon units, and medical personnel who went into battle in armored vehicles. The award was authorized through the Panzer Division commander. A separate class of the badge, in Bronze, was added in order to recognize the crews of armored vehicles other than tanks (half tracks, assault guns, etc). The badge was worn on the left breast pocket.

Panzer (Tank) Assault Badges 25, 50, 75 and 100

History of the German Army Tank / Panzer Assault Badges: As the war continued it became apparent that the basic tank assault badge was no longer sufficient. In June of 1943 four new classes were introduced for 25, 50, 75 and 100 engagements. The badge was worn on the left breast pocket and at the bottom of the badge is a rectangle with the award number.

THE MOST CANDID EXAMINATION OF FAKERS TO DATE!

"This book could save you a fortune and lots of embarrassment." ~ Michael Kelly, PzG Inc. President

read more about it here...

Attics, basements, and garages have served as resting places for original nazi war souvenirs, booty, trophies, and collectibles liberated by soldiers during the war with Hitler. Each item had a story, like the GI who picked up a pistol from a dead German Waffen SS officer, took a nazi flag from a town square, or found Hitler's personal copy of Mein Kampf from his night stand at the Berghoff. Even after all these years nazi relics still capture our imagination.

But, as time passes so does the growing rarity of these artifacts and the resulting higher prices make them impossible for many to have in personal collection where they can be held and studied at leisure but PzG has changed all of that by making historically accurate reproductions available to buy at reasonable prices for collectors, re-enactors, teachers, military enthusiasts, and all students of WWII history.
