Adolf Hitler (listen (help·info); April 20, 1889 – April 30, 1945) was Chancellor of Germany from 1933, and Führer (Leader) of Germany from 1934 until his death. He was leader of the National Socialist German Workers Party (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or NSDAP), the Nazi Party.

Hitler gained power in a Germany facing crisis after World War I. Using propaganda and charismatic oratory, he appealed to the economic needs of the lower and middle classes, while sounding resonant chords of nationalism, antisemitism, and anti-communism. With the establishment of a restructured economy, a rearmed military, and a totalitarian regime, Hitler pursued an aggressive foreign policy with the intention of expanding German Lebensraum ("living space"). This triggered World War II when Germany annexed Austria, the Czech lands, and invaded Poland, much of which was also annexed to form the "Greater German Reich" (Großdeutsches Reich).

At their zenith, Nazi Germany and the Axis Powers occupied most of Europe, but were eventually defeated by the Allies. By the end of the war, Hitler's racial policies had culminated in the killing of approximately 11 million people, including the genocide of some six million Jews, in what is now known as the Holocaust. By the end of the war, more than 45 million people had died in Europe alone.

In the final days of the war, Hitler, along with his new wife, Eva Braun, committed suicide in his underground bunker in Berlin, as the city was overrun by the Red Army of the Soviet Union.

Life like in every minute detail. Hitler's buckle works, buttons work, both coats are satin lined, hats are lined. You can see the crown in his WWI Iron Cross. The crossed swords in his Wound Badge. And, his facial expression and skin tone are extremely realistic.

I just had to stop and tell you how impressed I am with your Hitler action figure. It is superb! I can juxtapose him next to my FDR action figure. I particularly like the inter-changeable heads. Whoever designed and produced this figure did a phenomenal job.

I recall when a now-defunct company called Drastic Plastic produced by an FDR figure and Hitler figure as part of its WWII leaders series, they caught all kinds of hell about the Hitler figure--totally ignoring the historical fact that he WAS a WWII leader, like him or not. Granted, he is an extremely ignominious historical figure, but a part of history nonetheless. It never ceases to amaze me how history revisionists want to purge history of facts. By definition, when you start purging a documented event of the facts, then it ceases to be history. It then becomes fiction. You probably know that FDR smoked between 40 and 50 cigarettes a day! Yet, in textbooks he's never shown smoking.

I have a whole collection of monster action figures to which I plan to add Hitler. I might even create a tableau of Hitler battling Frankenstein and/or the Wolfman. Nevertheless, just wanted to let you know how pleased I am with my purchase. It was well-worth the money. - Garrett
