German Military March Music
Nazi Songs Third Reich Music Adolf Hitler
Since the dawn of organized armies men have been led into bloody battle by heroic martial music - and soothed their lonely spirits with sweet songs of their loved ones by the campfire.
No where was this more true than Nazi Germany under National Socialism. Dr. Goebbel's ministry of nazi propaganda encouraged the writing and production of many of the most rousing and heroic military songs and marches in history; yet the battle-hardened soldiers' softer side was not ignored.
Lili Marlene was not just a favorite German Nazi soldier love song but became the favorite of American GI's and British Tommies as well! We invite you to share that moment in history just as the German soldier or civilian did - whether on the frozen hell of the endless steppes - or in a bomb shelter, where the sound of the encouraging music calmed their racing heart and gave new strength to flagging morale to carry on the fight.

Music Review...
The Nordland CD is really an excellent CD in many aspects. Anything Norwegian, either SS or military in nature is very unusual in that very little was recorded and much destroyed after WW II. This CD begins with Kamerat VI Marsjerer, the Norwegian SS song. It is then followed by a news commentator introducing the guest speakers and the new Waffen SS unit, Nordland. They are playing the Prussian Prasentiermarsch, written by Frederich Wilheim III, von Preussen in 1817. This is a drum and fife version and is quite unusual in that the drum is used more in Norwegian military music than German military music. This form of Prasentiermarsch along with
the next march, Parademarsch der langen Keris, written in 1922, by Marc Roland emphasizes, with the use of the drum and fife the Paradeschritt (goosestep). This form of playing is not heard in modern recordings of today and is the true form as it was played before. After the speeches the Reg. Nordland sings, Deutschland uber alles and the Horst Wassel Lied. It ends with a Norwegian unit song. I think this is a excellent CD because of the rarity of the music played.
This is an excellent CD because anything Norwegian, either SS or military in nature is very unusual.
CD 29 includes rare military music from WW II that escaped destruction after the war.
