Hitler used many Mercedes-Benz cars throughout his rise to power.
He preferred open cars so that he was accessible to his people.
Isn't strange that Hitler did not fear the public unlike today's politicians!
This photo is from the 1927 Nuremberg Rally titled "the Brown Army (the Brownshirts) march again" from page 36 of the book Deutchland Erwache.
BENZ001 - HITLER'S 1938 MERCEDES-BENZ "BLACK" 770K PULLMAN
The Mercedes-Benz 770K was a very elegant and extravagant car. It was the largest car that Mercedes-Benz had ever produced to date. It was debuted at the 1930 Paris Motor Show where it was among the highlights of the day. It was powered by an eight-cylinder engine that produced an impressive 150 horsepower. An optional supercharger boosted the power even further, to 200 hp. The supercharger was a popular option and most Mercedes-Benz 770K Pullman's were fitted with this configuration.
2 Red Pennants (no Swastika) attached underneath the bottom of base.
Jump seats, doors, trunk and hood all open!

After your last mailing...my memory was tossed about and I remembered back in the 1950's. Hitler's Mercedes was on tour and arrived in a small, very backward, city of Waltham, Massachusetts. Now you may not believe this, but to step inside and raise our arm in a salute and pause a moment and look at this auto, we were charged the grand sum of 1 cent. Yes one penny.
Now...I think that Mercedes was in a Las Vegas auto museum. I don't know who ownes it now, but there is some question of it's authenticity.
There is another Mercedes claiming the honor in a museum in Canada.
I thought you would like to know about this little story!
