This book is not a scholarly treatise, but rather, hard reference information. It does not purport to be the final word on the subjec of German belt buckles; instead I hope it will be regarded in the future as the first truly ogjective attempt to present Third Reich Nazi militaria (and belt buckles in particular) in the light of reality.

About the Author:
Ray Cowdery, 40 year old executive, obtained his original interest in militaria from his father, who served for four years as a medical aid man with the 706 Tank Bn., 77th Infantry Division, in the Pacific during WWII.
Cowdery's own service in the U.S. Marine Corps only renewed that interest. Choosing a career in international business, he currently heads four companies trading principally in housewares on all continents.
The inveterate collector, he has served a number of terms as president and director of several historical societies and museums. Cowdery insists that no travel can be conducted solely for business purposes, but must include time for the pursuit of his avocation, military history.
