The field includes fake daggers, swords, medals, uniforms, etc. The author has a long background in museum management and is an expert with over 40 years of subject experience, over 20 of those years in Europe.
This book contains more than 30 photos and illustrations, most done especially for this book, depicting fake and real German militaria. Subjects include the Myth of the RZM, an Industrial View of German Militaria, Museums and Fakes, the Art and Science of the Fakers, Old Militaria Advertising, Dagger Blade Etching Explained and “Made in Germany”. There are reprints of advertising and newspaper accounts of the manufacture of fakes. The author pulls no punches pointing out that much of the “Third Reich Memorabilia” being traded today (especially daggers, swords, medals, orders, caps and helmets) is bogus and much of it cannot be distinguished from the genuine, EVEN BY EXPERTS! There is even a photograph of the author in a Taiwanese factory watching undetectably fine "Nazi" orders and medals being made.
